Dr. Anderson-Cowell began her medical journey in Syracuse, New York, earning her medical degree in 1988. From the outset, she was fascinated by the complexity of the immune system and how conditions like HIV target and disrupt its delicate balance. During this time, she contributed to foundational research as part of a team working toward breakthroughs in HIV treatment and immunological understanding.

Dr. Anderson-Cowell’s interest in immunology led her to the Yale University School of Medicine, where she completed a fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology in 1995. She later served as an Associate Research Scientist in Yale’s Department of Cell Biology, contributing to advancements in the understanding of allergic and immunologic diseases.

In 1998, Dr. Anderson-Cowell transitioned into patient care, joining AADA and discovering deep fulfillment in helping patients manage allergies and immune-related conditions. Her dedication and leadership ultimately led her to become the sole owner of the practice, which she re-envisioned as West Hills Allergy and Asthma Associates. Under her guidance, the practice has continued to thrive by blending compassionate care with scientific rigor and a focus on improving each patient’s quality of life.

In 2025, she expanded her vision of wellness by founding West Hills Medical Aesthetics, a practice dedicated to the art and science of healthy skin. She believes that well-cared-for skin not only supports long-term wellness but also boosts confidence and overall quality of life. Drawing from her medical background, she brings a thoughtful, science-informed approach to aesthetic care, helping patients look and feel their best through treatments that are gentle, effective, and tailored to individual needs.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Anderson-Cowell enjoys a full and creative life with her husband and their two children. She finds joy in attending her children’s sporting events, expressing herself through oil painting and writing, and taking peaceful walks with their dog, Lola.
